DEFENSE & ARMAMENT

For over 35 years, Nitrex has contributed to the worldwide defense industry with our installed systems and services. Top defense contractors, military bases, and depot of the armed forces need to keep developing new armaments, ships, submarines, aircraft, missiles, and systems. Many of those armed forces rely on Nitrex expertise in heat treating.

Armament

Heat treating has long been recognized as a key process in the armament industry. Since the first swords made by forged iron in medieval times, heat-treating has provided the process to make armaments more efficient and resistant. Today, Nitrex supports the armament and defense industry with turnkey heat-treating solutions for their most demanding innovations.

Controlled Goods

Nitrex also recognizes the need for protecting defense customer data and we always keep our controlled goods processes up to date. We maintain multiple accreditations to meet and exceed defense contractor requirements such as ITAR. Our compliance officers are fully trained to ensure that defense customers’ data is protected, and we are proud to serve the men and women worldwide who protect our freedom and our way of life.

Nitriding Systems

Nitrex nitriding / nitrocarburizing systems and technologies deliver superior quality and performance, improving the wear and corrosion resistance of a number of steel, stainless steel, and metal alloy components. Nitrex systems can be an integral part of a fully automated production cell with automatic loading and unloading.

Vacuum Furnaces

From vacuum brazing to precipitation hardening, vacuum furnaces are extensively used to heat treat many alloys found in armaments, fighter jet aero engine hot sections, aerostructures, naval structures, and other complex systems part of many defense apparatus.
