This leads to an extremely hard and wear resistant surface. Vacuum carbonitriding is a significant improvement over\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nitrexheattreat.com\/surface-treatment-heat-treating\/carburizing\/#concarbo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conventional gas carbonitriding<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. The process contains all of the inherent benefits of vacuum carburizing, but also has the additional benefit of precise computer control of surface ammonia content.
